Very pleasantly surprised to find a freshly baked pastry shop still active in downtown San Jose! I absolutely melt over a good almond croissant and theirs is no exception. Fully covered with slivered almonds and I’m pretty sure there was a bit of chocolate inside, too. With a cup of coffee you will be in heaven. Next time I will try to get there well before 20 minutes before close and check out the rest of their selection! There was outdoor seating in the alleyway where you could get some fresh air, too. *PS, nice to see a place with a grammatically correct foreign name! Feminine adjectives add an e in French so this place is in my book on that alone *

We go here on the weekends. Parking can be tough but is worth it. I really like their sandwiches. My husband likes the turkey bistro on baguette. It’s healthy and uses good quality ingredients. My favorite is the chicken pecan sandwich in croissant. Very creamy and not too sweet. Has apples which give it a nice crunch. The place has new ownership but has made a lot of improvements to the place such as self order kiosk. This allows the workers to focus on making sandwiches and drinks quicker. But from what I can tell the improved efficiency doesn’t mean lower quality. The staff are super sweet and friendly. They always have a smile and seem to really enjoy working their.

I recently stopped by SJSU to relive my collegiate memories and stumbled across La Lune. Hungry and wanting some caffeine, I went in to give this place a shot. Upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised with the warm greeting by every employee. While ordering, we all had a nice conversation and discovered the staff are fellow Spartans. Definitely feels like I'm amongst friends and just not a restaurant. As for the food? I had a double dose of strawberries: a strawberry crepe and strawberry matcha. Both pastry and drink have just the right amount of sweetness and are not overly sweet. No lingering aftertastes nor sugar overdose feeling, which is a very good thing! Before leaving, I chatted with the staff. The current owners recently acquired this establishment and are making adjustments and evolving their menu. I look forward to trying out more of La Lune's offerings and for more good times & conversation!

Not sure why the low reviews. To be honest, I enjoyed this cafe! It is small, yet if you get a table it’s very comfortable with WiFi and outlets. The iced honey matcha latte was really good as well!

Small sit-in or sit-out cafe. It's like an American cafe with San Jose flair. Student run front of house. Don't come expecting a Parisian brunch spot. The branding concept is *different* calling it La Lune Sucree but then looking at the menu options, all that to say: you'll still enjoy it very much. You should know the tea is better than the coffee. Sandwich options are far less French. Fast and great service today. Refreshing pit stop. Reasonable prices to feed oneself on the go. Veggie options!! I got the vegan avocado pesto sandwich but I believe the croissant is made with dairy butter. So 3.5/4 stars.. French fried onions were a delightful surprise imo but definitely not French haha. Hope to see more vegan options as the place grows and tries out even more creative things hint hint Hot For Food's recipe for a Monte Cristo... Would you consider it Owner?

As an SJSU alum, I was on campus last week during my visit to San Jose. I came across this jewel of a cafe just right outside the campus. I ordered the croque monsieur and it was spot on. It was tasty and was very fulfilling. For a quaint cafe they have a very diverse menu. My only complaint was that my coffee was a bit acidic and made it taste bitter. Otherwise, I highly recommend this place for a quick lunch if you're near or on campus.

I loved this place when I was a student at sjsu, a lovely location to sit and relax with friends or by yourself to decompress. Some of my best college memories are over the hot chocolates at La lune, and their Apple Brie baguette. A true gem, with there was something like it where I live now. Miss this place

Be patient here. The food is worth it and delicious, but they may have been understaffed when I went (who isn't these days?) It took a bit of time for them to get our order to us, but the food is amazing and their honey ginger tea was incredibly soothing for my sore throat! I give the girl working here so much credit for seemingly doing it all. This is a lot of work to do, and while it might seem slow for you if it's just one person there, I thought it was worth the wait.
